While London may not be the first place you think of when you're planning a stag do, the capital is worth visiting if you intend for it to be more civilised than tradition dictates.
With its picturesque parks, places you can try out unusual hobbies, some of the best food in the world and a fantastic assortment of pubs, there is something for every man in the city.
So, once you've booked your hotel, these are the spots that should be on your itinerary for any groom's last night out as a free man...
Swingers
Whether the groom is a golf pro or a complete novice, they're bound to enjoy a trip out to a Swingers crazy golf course, especially given the offering of delicious street food and range of craft beers. There are two locations, one in The City and the other in the West End, allowing you to easily tailor a visit around the rest of your stag plans.
Book your trip through the company's website.
The Medieval Banquet
This banquet hall in St Katharine Docks transports visitors back to ye olde London. Guests are treated to a show involving jesters, knights and acrobats, as well as a four-course meal fit for a medieval king and unlimited drinks. A costume hire service makes sure everybody in the stag party can get into the spirit of the occasion.
Discounts are available on online group bookings.
Rowan's Ten Pin Bowling
A North London institution, Rowan's offers the perfect mix of bowling, an arcade and reasonably priced drinks, and is bound to get any stag party in the mood for the night to come. Shoe changes are free as long as you buy a lane and, as for food, the alley has a deal with local takeaways that allow them to deliver inside. Enquire at the bar for a menu.
You can reserve a lane in advance on the Rowan's website.
Flight Club
These bars in Shoreditch, Bloomsbury and Victoria have taken darts from the backrooms of dingy pubs and reinvented the sport for the 21st century.
Don't worry if you've never played before, flight sensor tracking, a computerised scoreboard and range of fun multi-player games help level the playing field when darts newbies step up to the oche. Bespoke cocktails and craft beer are also served at the bar.
You can find more info on the Flight Club website.
Loading Gaming Bars
The perfect bar to stop off at if the groom is an avid gamer. Loading Bar has a full setup of modern and retro consoles, meaning you can quickly load up the PS4 and crack on with some FIFA. Or, if you fancy something more old school, then take each other on at SNES classics like Street Fighter 2, Mario Kart and Mortal Kombat.
Two bars are now open in Dalston and Shepherds Bush, see the website for more info.
London Bubble Football
The beautiful game with a zorb twist, this is the perfect stag activity if the groom prefers a session in the gym to a session in the pub. Parties of up to 20 people can book in for an hour-long game at a choice of nine locations around London, with all equipment provided. Dressing room and changing facilities also mean you can head on to your next stop feeling refreshed once the match is over.
Full information on prices and location are found online.
Octoberfest Pub
In the theme of the world's great beer festival, this pub in Fulham gives revellers the full Oktoberfest experience without having to leave West London. Over 60 different beers are available, including an excellent selection from the Erdinger brewery, with traditional Bavarian food also served so revellers can line their stomach ahead of the night to come.
Group bookings for tables can be made online.
