Now we all know Notting Hill as the set of the Julia Roberts classic, the location for the annual carnival and the place to be find antique gems at Portobello Market but there’s so much more to it than that. Unexpected London offers The Alternative Notting Hill Experience, a creative, immersive and intimate walking tour on the history behind Notting Hill, blending music, art and local culture together. This fantastic day out will make your fall in love with the most intimate and authentic side of the neighbourhood. Unexpected London also offers similar tours around Brixton and Shoreditch. Tally Ho Cycle Tours is an experience you wouldn’t want to miss. These bike tours are ideal for individual travellers, families and groups who love to cycle. For all you Harry Potter lovers out there, we’d recommend the Landmarks & Gems tour where you’ll discover J. K. Rowling's inspiration for Diagon Alley, and cycle over the same bridge where the Knight Bus squeezes through the double decker buses. The London Gin safari is another fantastic package available. This tour takes you on a journey across the city to reveal the story of gritty social history and London’s turbulent affair with its favourite tipple, you’ll even get the change to enjoy gin along the way. The Kayak Bus: Greenwich to Battersea

This is one we’d recommend doing sooner rather than later before winter officially closes in on us. Why not go with the tidal flow on a three-hour kayak bus trip from Greenwich to Battersea. The London kayak company will take you from Cutty Sark, past the Tower of London to St Paul’s cathedral, through Westminster and then on to Battersea. You’ll also be provided with all of the kit to keep you warm, dry and safe. Book your session for an afternoon in October and finish the day off in a warm pub for dinner in leafy Battersea. Bookings must be made in advance.

Street Art Tour & Graffiti Workshop

Our final fun and unique sightseeing experience has to be the Street Art Tour & Graffiti Workshop. You’ll learn the history of the art form and get inspired by the huge range of styles found on the streets of London today. After a few hours exploring, you’ll probably want to have a go yourself and this tour has you covered for that too. A workshop back in the studio will give you the basic skills, tips and tricks to spray your very own masterpiece onto a graffiti wall. For a small additional cost, you can also paint your own canvas or bag to take away with you. Bookings must be made in advance.
