A Theatre Lover’s Guide to the Best West End Shows Reopening This Summer

If like us, you’ve been longing for the day that you can go back to enjoying a theatre show in person rather than watching it on a live stream, then you’ll be pleased to know that more of our favourite shows are scheduled to reopen their doors this summer.
Just when we thought the return of shows couldn’t get any better, it has been announced that Kids Week will be back this season. Children aged 17 and under can see selected shows for free when accompanied by a full paying adult. Kids Week tickets are now on sale for performances taking place between 1st – 31st August 2021.
To make sure you’re in the loop, we thought we’d share with you the details of when our top must-see West End shows will reopen their doors, so you can start planning your long-awaited theatre trips.

Hairspray the Musical – 21st June

This huge-hearted, smash-hit musical is now showing for socially distanced performances at the wonderful London Coliseum. Led by Michael Ball and Lizzie Bea, Hairspray the Musical is a feel-good show and is guaranteed to have you singing and dancing the night away to its fabulously uplifting songs.


Hairspray the Musical is available to be booked within the Kids Week promotion for performances in August. All bookings must be made in advance and are subject to availability.



Pretty Woman the Musical – 8th July

If you’re a fan of the original Hollywood classic starring the one and only Julia Roberts, then you've got to head out to experience Pretty Woman the Musical in the West End. This dazzling new stage show now has a new home at the Savoy Theatre and is now available for you to enjoy.

Jersey Boys - 28th July

Jersey Boys will return to the sparkling new Trafalgar Theatre with an incredible new cast is showing now. This award winning smash hit musical tells the real-life story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. Featuring classic hits from the 60s, this show will have you singing and toe-tapping all the way through.

The Lion King- 29th July

Now in its 21st year showing at the beautiful Lyceum Theatre, Disney’s award-winning musical has now returned to the stage. The Lion King will have you mesmerised by its glorious colours and stunning effects. This outstanding show has become the West End’s sixth longest-running musical of all time.


The Lion King is available to be booked within the Kids Week promotion for performances in August. All bookings must be made in advance and are subject to availability.

Hamilton- 19th August

Winner of 11 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Hamilton will be returning to the stage at Victoria Palace Theatre from Thursday 19th August. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s unlikely hit features a mash-up of hip-hop, R&B and soul songs to tell the story of the American founding father Alexander Hamilton. This incredible show is loved worldwide and is a must see.

Mamma Mia! - 25th August

Did you know…Mammia Mia! the show has thrilled over 65 million people around the world with its hilarious story line and timeless songs by ABBA. This exhilarating smash- hit musical will return to the Novello Theatre from Wednesday 25th August and we just can’t wait to have it back on the stage.

The Woman In Black - 7th September

Now celebrating three decades in the West End, The Woman In Black will be returning to Fortune Theatre from Tuesday 7th September. Susan Hill’s acclaimed classic ghost story comes dramatically alive in Stephen Mallatratt’s gripping stage adaptation. If you love a horror then this one is definitely for you.

Wicked the Musical- 15th September

A show that’s definitely worth the wait is global musical phenomenon Wicked, which will return to London’s Apollo Theatre from Wednesday 15th September. This unforgettable fantasy features show stopping music and lyrics and will enchant theatregoers of all ages.
