The Man Behind The Curtain

No foodie’s list of places to go in Leeds would be complete without the famous Man Behind The Curtain. Boasting a Michelin star, Michael O’Hare’s concept restaurant takes what you know about food and turns it completely on its head. Fancy squab pigeon, rhubarb hoi sin and enoki? Matt Healy x The Foundry

This MasterChef: The Professionals runner-up really is a master chef (sorry), and this is showcased right here. Forget the stuffiness of most fine-dining restaurants, The Foundry is much more chilled yet the quality does not suffer. ‘Unconventially British’ is the cuisine, and it is absolutely delightful.

Crafthouse

Any restaurant owned by hospitality group D&D is always going to be nothing short of spectacular – and Crafthouse is no exception. Make sure you throw on your best glad rags here, but it is definitely not style over substance. Delicious dishes such as Truffle Orzo Pasta or Crispy Pork Belly are sure to scintillate your senses.

Chino Latino

Vice and Virtue

One of the most in-demand restaurants in the city, famous Leeds chef Luke Downing’s Vice & Virtue was highly-anticipated months before its opening. Their tasting menus are a journey through exquisite flavours and unique dishes such as ox tongue, prunes, caramelised cauliflower and madeira.

Ox Club

Grilling galore, fancy surroundings and an enchanting open kitchen – it must be Ox Club! Opened in 2016, Ox Club generated a huge buzz – and rightly so. Their dishes are to die for – the onglet steak being the stuff of legends around these parts. Looking for something that won’t break the bank?
