1. Florentine

This all-day dining restaurant situated in Waterloo is famous for its outstanding ostrich egg breakfast. Come on down with friends and order this sharing platter of breakfast treats surrounding a spectacularly large fried ostrich egg. Fancy something a little less overwhelming? Florentine offers a large selection of egg dishes from omelettes and scrambled to benedicts and Florentines (obviously!).

2. Opso

A Greek restaurant might not normally be your go-to spot for some morning eggs, but Opso’s brunch menu is a delight to behold.

Enjoy their free-range eggs selection including kayanas – a Greek take on scrambled eggs with feta, cherry tomatoes and guacamole served on delicious toasted sourdough.

If the weather is playing ball, you can also tuck into your breakfast on their 40-seater terrace.

3. The Modern Pantry

The Modern Pantry’s philosophy is the desire to please – and this Clerkenwell restaurant does just that. Offering every style of eggs you could expect, as well as a delightful sugar cured prawn omelette, sprinkled with smoke chilli sambal, spring onion and coriander. You will not leave The Modern Pantry disappointed.

4. Caravan

With several locations across London Caravan is the perfect choice for a feast of egg perfection.

Their sharing platters consist of multiple dishes and beverages, but the star of the show has got to be their baked eggs with spiced tomato, pepper, chickpea ragu, rose harissa, Greek yogurt and grilled flatbread. Yum!

5. Nopi

Part of the Ottolenghi group, this Soho restaurant is a fast-paced, buzzy restaurant with a signature breakfast menu of champions. No trip to Nopi would be complete without sampling their Shakshuka – a joyous mixture of braised eggs, piquante tomato sauce and smoked labneh. Wash it all down with some fresh juices or smooth coffee and it’s a breakfast well done!

If you’re looking for some eggs with an unusual, Pan-Asian vibe, look no further than House of Ho. Not a traditional breakfast venue, this Fitzrovia eatery offers lunch egg-based dishes such as Vietnamese Scotch Egg and “Son-in-law Eggs” which are not to be sniffed at!

Dishoom is famed for its Irani-inpired breakfasts, and with multiple venues across the city and the country, there’s no excuse not to enjoy what they have to offer. With multiple egg dishes to choose from, take our advice and go for the Akuri – an Irani café staple of three eggs, spiced, scrambled and piled up alongside home-made buns – mmm!

Keeping with our international cuisine-inspired eggs theme, another eggy venue you need to try is Hoppers. With two venues in Soho and Marylebone, this Sri Lankan eatery has one of the most unusual egg meals in the city.
