The summer months are almost upon us, and there’s no city in the world that does summer quite like London.
From al fresco dining (and drinking!) to days out at one of its many parks, there really is something for everyone in our wonderful city – and something to fit anyone and everyone’s Insta feed aesthetic!
1. Bubbles over St Paul’s Cathedral
It goes without saying that St Paul’s Cathedral is one of the key destinations in London, but not everyone knows about the bubble man. Hop down from the Millennium Bridge and walk along Southbank, and before you get to the Tate Modern you will spot a man blowing bubbles. If you time it just right, you’ll get them in front of your perfect St Paul’s shot. Thank us later.
2. Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew
These gardens are an Instagram addict’s dream. Home to a stunning cherry blossom walk, green houses and flower displays, you’ll have enough Insta-worthy shots to last you a lifetime!
Don’t forget to check out the rose garden and get that perfectly filtered shot ready for your summer posts.
3. Notting Hill
There aren’t many neighbourhoods that look like they were built just for Instagram, but Notting Hill is certainly one of them. Pastel-coloured terraced houses, doors adorned with flowers and spotless pavements make the perfect setting for your shots. Start off on roads such as Kynance Mews, but just take a wander around and you’ll soon find some spots ideal for you.
4. The Churchill Arms
One of the most stunning pubs in all of London is, unsurprisingly, a huge hit on Instagram.
Adorned with hanging baskets, flower displays and planters during the summer, you can really get your pose on outside of the pub – and enjoy a few pints afterwards!
5. Kensington Gardens
The Kensington Gardens are absolutely stunning and a dream for any wannabe or bonafide Instagram models. Get your trusted photographer to snap you staring pensively at a cherry blossom tree, or taking in the sights in the sunken garden for that ideal deep Instagram post.
Moving away from flowers for now, if you’re looking for something more edgy, then Shoreditch has it. Take a nice summer’s walk around this super-cool area of East London and you will come across lots of interesting street art that will provide the perfect backdrop for that moody Insta pic.
7. Peggy Porschen
Pink shop front, floral decorations and cupcakes – if that doesn’t scream millennial Instagram user then I don’t know what does. Peggy Porschen is a social media addict’s dream. This cupcake café is a real hot spot among bloggers, vloggers and everyone in between.
8. London Eye
While this might be a bit of an obvious choice for your Instagram pics, it’s the best way to view an incredible sunset. Get an over the shoulder shot of your taking in the sun setting along the River Thames while you’re riding on the Eye, or even get one with the Eye in the background and drive your followers wild with jealousy!
9. Madisons Rooftop Bar
Another super-high vantage point in the city is Madisons Rooftop Bar, providing you with a perfect sunset shot of London and St Paul’s Cathedral in particular.
The bar is also worth getting some snaps in as it’s super cool, super trendy and you get to enjoy a cocktail or three while you’re at it. What’s not to like?!
10. Columbia Road Market
Want to show off your über-wholesome, mega-visual Sunday summer trips? Then head down to Columbia Road Market with your favourite Insta buddy and take some pictures in front of flower arrangements, house plants or other greenery to really give your feed that pop of colour.
11. Little Venice
Venice and London might not seem to go together, but Little Venice really is a spot of serenity in the middle of a bustling city. Situated where Grand Union Canal meets Regent’s Canal, this spot plays host to multi-coloured narrowboats, birds and cute little cafés. If you can’t get to Venice for that perfect Italian Insta-shot, then this is the next best thing.
12. Les Senteurs Perfumery
Deliciously-smelling perfume? Check. Stunning shop-front? Check. Perfect backdrop for an Insta story? Check check check! Les Senteurs Perfumery in Belgravia changes its shop-front with the seasons, from oversized baubles in winter to flower arrangements in the spring and summer, so you’ll always have something new to post on your feed even if you go back to the same place!
13. Neal’s Yard
Tucked away in the mega-busy Covent Garden, this unassuming street is a real gem when it comes to on-location Instagram pictures. With flowers and ivy creeping up the walls and multi-coloured shop fronts, this area feels like something from a film set, not a central London street.
14. Sky Garden
A bit of an obvious choice but one that we couldn’t ignore nonetheless, Sky Garden gives you some of the best views of the city from a beautiful setting. Situated on Fenchurch Street, it’s the highest public garden and is free to enter, so Instagram away to your heart’s delight.
15. Farm Girl
If you want to mix your Instagram posing with some influencer spotting, you better head down to Farm Girl. This Notting Hill café serves its coffee with Instagram in mind – their chocolate dusting art lending itself perfectly to a Valencia or X-Pro II filter. But it’s not all style over substance, their brunches are delicious, and the outside seating is the perfect summer brunch pic spot.
