It's the most wonderful time of the year! No seriously... in London it really is. For hundreds of years, we have been celebrating Christmas in the most unique and unforgettable ways and we have no intention of slowing down now. Our Insta shots are some of the very best to be captured in the world, so you'd best get yourself over here to celebrate with us.
1. The Claridge’s Christmas Tree (Claridge’s Hotel, Mayfair)
To say the Claridge’s Christmas tree has become and the institution would be the understatement of the decade. Thousands flock to see it every year and once you behold it for the first time you will see exactly why. Last years was designed by Diane von Furstenberg and was aptly named ‘The Tree of Love’. 2019’s tree is to be created by legendary shoe designer Christian Louboutin.
2. Harrods (Brompton Road, Knightsbridge)
The golden fairy lights adorning the outside of Harrods on a winter’s eve are as close as you can get to the personification of Christmas excitement in London. We highly recommend wrapping up warm and going to see them: you (and your followers) won’t regret it.
3. Somerset House Ice Rink (Strand, WC2R)
If the Neoclassical beauty of Somerset House is right up your street then just wait until you see it at Christmas, complete with its now iconic ice rink. If you’re looking for London’s answer to ‘Rockefeller Center’ in New York then this is definitely it.
4. Annabel’s (Mayfair, W1)
No one does Christmas like Annabel’s and if you’re looking for a picture to share with your followers that oozes OTT Christmas glamour in London then this is very much it. You’ll be hard-pressed to find any other shop or restaurant that can compete on this scale.
5. ‘Christmas at Kew’ (Kew Gardens, Richmond)
In recent years Kew has cemented itself as one of the most Instagram-worthy Christmas attractions in London. Their light show gets more and more impressive every year, meaning it is a place where Instagrammers will be in their element.
6. Covent Garden Christmas Tree (Covent Garden Piazza, WC2H)
This year the 55 ft marvel that is the Covent Garden Christmas tree will be returning to act as a centerpiece for the magical piazza. It will also be lit up by an astonishing 115,000 fairy lights – well worthy of a photograph by anyone’s standards.
7. Carnaby Street (W1F)
It’s fair to say that Carnaby Street ends up featuring on our Christmas blogs a great deal but that’s because they always take things up a notch. This year, they are launching a sustainable light display with Project 0, made exclusively from recycled materials and displaying different elements of the ocean that are in need of conservation.
8. Oxford Street and Regent Street (W1)
Ok yes, it might seem like we ram this down your throats every year but honestly, guys, Oxford Street and Regent Street really do have the most awe-inspiring light displays and there is no way you will walk away without an amazing picture.
9. Hamleys Toy Store (Regent Street, W1B)
Any picture that can unlock the excitement of our inner child is something that will garner a lot of likes and there is no better place for this than the world-famous storefront of Hamley's toy store.
10. Coppa Club (Tower Bridge, EC3R)
We defy you to find a greater representation of snuggly winter cosiness than the faux-fur adorned igloos at Coppa Club. This could not be more perfect for a Christmas ‘Gram and there’s the added bonus of Tower Bridge and the Shard acting as your backdrop.
