Hello Cologne!

Updated: Feb 28, 2019

Just voted the sixth best city in Europe by the readers of Condé Nast magazine, we had to find out what all the fuss was about.
Multicultural Cologne, with it’s one million inhabitants from 180 nationalities is known to be a very welcoming and open-minded city full of great people, art, shops, food and drink.

One of your first stops should be to visit Willy Millowitsch for a selfie (well, with his statue). He was the founder of Millowitsch Theatre and one of Cologne’s most famous citizens who died a few years ago. Willy-Millowitsch-Square is directly connected to Schildergasse, Breitestraße, Ehernstraße which are all the nicest shopping streets.

Also close to Willy is a very typical Brew house “Bieresel”, serving the freshest mussels to locals from September to the end of February. The exclusive shopping hotspot is Apropos Concept Store - enjoy a glass of champagne and being seen at their bar.

Not far from there is the Belgian Quarter, one of the nicest areas with apartments to swoon over and the wonderful shop: Boutique Belgique, owned by blogger and influencer Lena Terlutter. Around the corner, at Aachener Straße you will find a lot of great restaurants and the best ice cream at Salon Schmitz.

The district of Mühlheim is home to many Turks and the best Turkish restaurant is located at Keupstraße called Kervansaray. Ehrenfeld is the alternative, hipster district. The first “Veedelskrämer Unverpackt” shop opened there - 100% plastic free without any packaging.

The Wine Festival on the Rhine
