The British summer is officially upon us! With highs of 30°+ and not a cloud in sight, what better way to enjoy the sunshine than sat high in the sky with a cocktail in hand, looking out at this beautiful city.

Rooftop bars are definitely the in thing at the minute and let’s face it, they are full of Instagram opportunities for the thousands of tourists that will be taking over London this summer. Unfortunately most tourists don’t have the luxury of knowing all about London’s hidden treasures, and I for one can vouch for the fact that we often repeatedly find ourselves in that situation where you’re traipsing around for hours looking for that ‘perfect bar’ because you refuse to end up sitting in/outside another version of the same chain restaurant you visit every weekend at home. So, if you’re visiting London this summer and looking for the perfect place to get the perfect photo… Here are a few recommendations of places to go

Radio Rooftop Bar

An ‘urban oasis’ with panoramic views of London including great sights of the Shard and Tower Bridge. Radio rooftop is an extremely stylish bar that wraps around the 10th Floor of the ME hotel. With great music and an inside seating area too, this bar is a perfect spot for day or evening drinks in the centre of London, staying open till 3am. Tip: Call in advance as the rules on boking tables switch dependent on the time of year/day. Nearest tube stop: Covent Garden

Madison Rooftop Bar

The rooftop bar in Madison restaurant has the most breath-taking views of St Pauls Cathedral and offers you the complete dream day from morning till night. With amazing cocktails (including gigantic disco balls filled with your favourite flavour) this place has an extremely cool atmosphere both day and night. With tons of events on this summer from brunches to DJ sets, there is always something for you to get involved with here. Tip: Try and be there for the sunset. Watching that from the viewing point is truly stunning. Nearest Tube Stop: St Pauls

Sushi Samba bar

Sushi Samba is very much a creation of the 21st century. What could be more cosmopolition than spending your day in London, 40 floors up looking out at a building known as ‘the gherkin’, drinking cocktails and eating sushi?! I don’t think you could get more SATC if you tried! With a glass front lift, the journey up to the bar builds up your expectations as you feel yourself rise up above London. When you step out, the bar does not disappoint. A great atmosphere, great drinks and great food – this is definitely a place to be this summer! Tip: Book way in advance as this place fills up pretty quickly! Nearest tube stop: Liverpool street

Tower 42

Chic and full of sassy atmosphere, Tower 42 is definitely the place to go for any special occasion. Although ordering straight from the menu is probably not the best option for those wanting to stick to a budget, this place constantly has deals on things like champagne afternoon tea – so keep an eye out for it on Groupon! With 360° views of London, great food, and five star service this place is not somewhere you want to miss out on. Tip: The closer to reception you sit, the better the view! Nearest Tube stop: Liverpool Street
