A drink with a view: the nine best rooftop bars to take in the London skyline

By Jess Hunter

There's nothing quite like taking in the majestic London skyline while sipping on a cocktail at one of the city's rooftop terraces.

Few cities compare to the UK capital for views, with its combination of historical sights such as the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge and St. Paul's Cathedral, and skyscrapers like The Shard, BT Tower and The Scalpel.

These are the best bars in London for anybody who wants to (quite literally) live the high life...

Combining a restaurant, bar and rooftop terrace on the top floors of Novotel in Canary Wharf, if you want a perfect view of London's financial district, then this is the place. The roof terrace is particularly decadent, with a specialist gin bar and rooftop daybeds making it the perfect spot.
